Pool Types & Selection

What types of pools do you install?

We install three main types of in-ground pools: fiberglass pools, concrete (gunite) pools, and vinyl liner pools. Each type has unique advantages.

Fiberglass pools offer the fastest installation (2-4 weeks) and lowest maintenance. Concrete pools provide maximum customization for unique shapes and sizes. Vinyl liner pools offer an accessible entry point to pool ownership with a variety of pattern options.

What is the difference between fiberglass and concrete pools?

Fiberglass pools are pre-manufactured shells that are installed in one piece, offering faster installation (2-4 weeks vs 8-12 weeks), lower maintenance, and a smooth non-porous surface.

Concrete pools are built on-site and offer unlimited customization for unique shapes and features. Fiberglass typically has lower lifetime costs due to reduced chemical usage and resurfacing needs.

Do you install spas and hot tubs?

Yes, we install integrated spas as part of pool projects. These can be attached to your pool (spillover spa) or installed as separate units. Integrated spas can share the pool's heating and filtration systems. We can discuss spa options during your design consultation.

What is a tanning ledge?

A tanning ledge (also called a Baja shelf or sun shelf) is a shallow area (4-8 inches of water) where you can place lounge chairs and relax in the water without being fully submerged.

They are perfect for young children to play, adults to sunbathe, and can be equipped with umbrella sleeves. Tanning ledges are available as upgrades on all our pool types.

Can I heat my pool for year-round use?

Yes, pool heaters extend your swimming season significantly in our climate. Options include gas heaters (fastest heating), heat pumps (most energy efficient), and solar heating.

Many customers enjoy their pools from April through October with heating. Paired with a cover, some use their pools year-round. We can help you choose the right heating option for your usage goals.

Cost & Financing

How much does a pool cost in Pennsylvania or Delaware?

Pool costs vary based on type, size, and features. Vinyl liner pools typically range from $50,000-$80,000. Fiberglass pools range from $60,000-$100,000. Concrete pools range from $80,000-$130,000+.

These prices include installation, basic decking, and standard equipment. We provide detailed, transparent quotes during your free consultation.

Do you offer financing for pool installation?

Yes, we partner with several financing providers including Lyon Financial and HFS Financial. Options include home equity loans, pool-specific loans, and personal loans with terms from 5-20 years.

Many customers qualify for payments starting around $300-500 per month. Visit our financing page or ask us during your consultation.

What is included in your pool installation?

Our pool installations include the pool shell or structure, excavation, filtration and pump equipment, basic decking (typically 3-4 feet around the pool), electrical hookup, plumbing, permit handling, and inspections.

We also include 1-2 years of complimentary maintenance service. Premium packages include automatic covers, heating systems, and smart pool technology.

What happens if I have rocky soil or a high water table?

Rocky soil and high water tables are common in our service area and we have extensive experience managing these conditions. Rock excavation may add to project costs but does not prevent installation.

High water tables require dewatering during installation and proper drainage systems. We assess soil conditions during your consultation and provide accurate pricing.

Do pools affect homeowner's insurance?

Yes, you should notify your insurance company before installation. Pools typically increase liability coverage needs. Most homeowner policies can add pool coverage, and the increase is usually modest ($50-100 per year).

A fenced pool with a safety cover may qualify for discounts. We recommend contacting your insurance agent during the planning phase.

Installation Process

How long does pool installation take?

Installation timelines vary by pool type. Fiberglass pools are typically installed in 2-4 weeks. Vinyl liner pools take 4-6 weeks. Concrete pools require 8-12 weeks due to the curing process.

These timelines are from groundbreaking to first swim and may vary based on weather, permits, and project complexity.

When is the best time to install a pool?

The best time to start planning is fall or winter for a spring/summer installation. This allows time for design, permitting, and scheduling.

Pool installation can occur year-round, though spring and fall offer the most favorable conditions. Starting in winter often means better scheduling availability and being ready to swim by Memorial Day.

How do I prepare my yard for pool installation?

Before installation, you should ensure clear access for equipment (typically 10-12 feet wide), identify and mark any underground utilities, remove any obstacles in the pool area, and notify your HOA if applicable.

We provide a detailed preparation checklist during the planning phase and handle all major site preparation.

Can you work with my landscaper or hardscape contractor?

Absolutely. We regularly coordinate with landscapers, hardscape contractors, electricians, and other professionals. We can also handle complete backyard transformations in-house, including decking, patios, outdoor kitchens, and landscaping.

We will work with your team or recommend trusted partners.

What warranty do you offer?

Warranties vary by pool type and component. Fiberglass pool shells typically carry lifetime structural warranties from manufacturers. Concrete pools include our workmanship warranty. Equipment warranties range from 1-3 years depending on the manufacturer.

We provide detailed warranty information in your contract and stand behind our installations.

Maintenance & Care

How much maintenance does a pool require?

Maintenance requirements vary by pool type. Fiberglass pools require the least maintenance due to their non-porous surface - typically 2-4 hours per week during swimming season for testing, cleaning, and chemical balancing.

Concrete pools require more attention including periodic acid washing and eventual resurfacing. We offer ongoing maintenance services and provide full training at installation.

Do you offer pool maintenance services?

Yes, we offer comprehensive pool maintenance services. This is actually how our company started before expanding into pool installation. We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly service plans as well as opening and closing services.

All new pool installations include 1-2 years of complimentary maintenance to ensure your pool stays in perfect condition.

What is involved in opening and closing a pool?

Opening a pool involves removing the cover, reconnecting equipment, filling water to proper level, balancing chemicals, and ensuring all systems are running properly. This typically takes 2-3 hours.

Closing involves lowering water level, blowing out lines, adding winterizing chemicals, and installing the cover. We offer seasonal opening and closing services for all pool types.

Permits & Regulations

Do I need a permit to install a pool?

Yes, pool installation requires permits in both Pennsylvania and Delaware. Requirements vary by township and municipality.

We handle the entire permit process for you, including applications, inspections, and compliance with local codes. This is included in our installation service at no additional charge.

What safety features are required?

Pennsylvania and Delaware require barrier fencing around pools (typically 4 feet minimum height with self-closing, self-latching gates).

Additional safety options include pool covers, alarms, and rescue equipment. We ensure all installations meet local safety codes and can recommend additional safety features based on your family's needs.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the Main Line Philadelphia area including Chester County, Montgomery County, and Delaware County in Pennsylvania, as well as New Castle County in Delaware.

This includes communities like Gladwyne, Villanova, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, West Chester, Malvern, Hockessin, Greenville, and Wilmington.
